A hotspot need not always be a rectangle or a circle. You can also create polygon hotspots.
To create a hotspot using the Polygon Hotspot tool:
1 | Choose the Polygon Hotspot tool.
|
2 | Click the tool to plot points, as if you are drawing straight segments with the Pen tool. The fill defines the hotspot area, whether the path is open or closed. |

To create a hotspot by tracing one or more selected objects:
1 | Choose Insert > Hotspot. |
If you selected more than one object, a dialog box asks you whether you want to create a single rectangular hotspot covering all objects or an individual hotspot in the shape of each object.
|
|
2 | Click OK. The Web Layer displays the new hotspot or hotspots. |

Another way to create a polygon hotspot is to convert a circle hotspot into a polygon hotspot, and then drag the points. For more information about converting hotspots, see Editing hotspots.
